Mohammed Samir has over 30 years of experience in the Filmmaking and Content Creation industry. He graduated from the Cairo higher institute of cinema in 1992. He later went on and founded the radio and tv production company ART and was the head of production of the movie channel at ART. Mohammed was also a professor at Cairo university for mass communication students from the year 1996 to 1998. As well as giving lectures at the Cairo higher institute of cinema during the same years mentioned before.
He also laid out the groundwork for television drama in Abu Dhabi in 1999. Later on, that year he launched Vardi Motion Pictures, Vardi produced over 10 cinematic movies and around 150 TV Shows including; “Ehteraf w El-leila ” with Hala Sarhan, Bani Adam Show, Heboot Edterary and more. The company also produced a variety of series for major superstars in the Arab world like; “Mosalsaleeko” starring Mohamed Henedy, “Doctor Amrad Nessa” starring Moustafa Shaaban, and “Kalabsh Betoola” starring Amir Karara. Furthermore, Mohammed Samir played a vital role in reviving theatre in Egypt by producing “Teatro Misr”. The show successfully hosted over 100 live plays from 2010 to 2012.
He was the managing director of Studio Misr from the year 2000 to 2010. It is the first studio in Egypt that was founded in Talaat harb in the year 1934 with an astounding area of 75,000 sqm.
Additionally, he was the managing director of “Al-Hayat” Tv channel from 2012 to 2018, and it is considered the top viewed channel in Egypt. One of his most successful moments was when he signed a protocol allowing the channel to collaborate with Abu Dhabi Media to produce a show that would be a hit all over the Arab world called “Mozeea Al Arab”.
Then later on he founded Oscar’s Events House & Media Maker in the UK. Oscar events’ core circulates around an ambitious 5-year plan to empower the Arab filmmaking industry & enrich online content. A plan that’s scheduled to launch again by 2022. Media Maker is a creator’s incubator that plans to run at a capacity of 50 Arabic content creators each 24 months. And is currently running at a capacity of 20 over the last 12 months.
